More Photos of Ole

Many of you have been requesting face shots of the newest edition... owing to a recent photo shoot with Baby Gap we have had to hold off with the glamor shots that we recently took... so you'll all have to live with what gleaned from Heidi's camera... enjoy!

Here Ole is just plain excited that he had his diaper changed. Doesn't he look like he has that oooohhh what a feeling look.

Heidi came into town and really helped out a ton. She really gave Erika and the family a bunch of love and definitely gets the 6th man award from Team Jones... actually at this point I think it would be the seventh man award as Ole makes Team Jones a total of 6... but who's counting. (I just hope that she isn't scared of our insanity and would want to come visit us again outside of having a baby.)

Ole Jude here is doing a quick punk look. We thought that this concept would work well with the Baby Gap shoot, but the folks down at Baby Gap had their own ideas.... darn he looked good.

Its a BOY!!!!!

Here is the latest edition to the Jones Family. He was born at 10:04am (CT) at the Hospital here in town. He weighed in at 7 Lbs and 10 oz. Length of 20". Of 'course Erika was up as soon as they put a couple of stitches in her (nothing serious!). He has dark hair (not the red we were use to before our Annie's blond). So.... wooooohooo!

We don't as of yet have a name for this little guy. Tommy says we should name him Smash. So for the moment.. meet Smash Jones.

What was really cool was turning the little guy into a stamp. Tommy and Naomi were completely jealous! So when we go we'll try and get a stamp for them as well from the feet of Smash.

Here is a really happy Mama! The birth went really well. We rolled into the hospital about 8am and Smash came into the world about 2 hours later.

Till next time!

Summer 2008

So It has been a really long time since we have entered anything in on this thing so here it goes! This summer was totally about cousins, grannies, and grandpa's, and lots of camping. This shot here is at Granny Jones' house. All the grand kids were there and we even got Uncle Doug to play a few tunes for us. The kids danced and ate watermelon and stuff. Cousin Joe (orange shirt) just moved to Utah from California and all the cousins were gaga over him and his Nintendo super Mario brothers skills.

This summer was also baby Annie's first camping experience in Utah. We went up to the Spruce's camp ground up Big Cottonwood Canyon. It was really Awesome. At one point the kids developed traps to catch the potguts that were invading our picknick table. The actually caught one at one point.

Of course no campout is complete with out the marshmallows and other s'more paraphernalia.

Lastly, before I go to bed, I was the assistant camp director up at Camp Tracy. For those of you that don't know, Camp Tracy is an 11 year old 3 day Boy Scout Camp up Milcreek Canyon in Salt Lake. The young men and women that worked up at this camp are really awesome. I worked them to death all summer long. One of the skits that they performed talked about what they would do if they were not a Boy Scout and one of the lines talks about scout masters. In essence the actor says: "where's my breakfast, where's my lunch, get to work you dirty bunch! The last photo is a picture of the 45 tables that we build and painted the last couple of weeks of camp. Not to mention all the campsites and other things that we built or painted.

As you can see, they really had fun even though I was quite the slave driver. Long live Captain Morgan!

Tommy fights the fan

Well, here he is! When he came out of the ER after the OMS took care of him he thought he was really cool! Not only did he get a cherry flavored popsicle, he got a really cool baseball sticker that he has placed on his pillow. Why the pillow, I don't know.

How this all happened is quite interesting. Erika was over at a neighbors house playing and that playing lasted long enough that it turned into dinner as well. After they had eaten their share of KFC or whatever, Tommy went upstairs to the kids room to play. In their upstairs rooms they have these industrial ceiling fans and the fan in the kids rooms happens to be right next to the top bunk bed in the kids room. (side not, the top bunk is used for storage) So Tommy decided to climb up to the top bunk. When he reached his goal he turned into the fan and received a sound thwacking from one of the fan blades which were going, at that particular moment, full speed. The doc said he was lucky it hit where it did. As I was in class at the time, Erika left Naomi with the family and took Tommy and Annie to the ER. I guess the OMS doc told Erika that he wouldn't sew Tommy up if she didn't leave, so if you ever have a kid who needs stitches in Champaign, Ill don't go to Carle Hospital. 25 minutes later he was done.
So in the end, Tommy received 5-6 internal stitches and about 10 external. He hates to have people ask him what happened to his head. He asked if Erika or I could announce what happened in primary so people would quite asking. What is really cool about this future scar is that it is going to be in the shape of a "T." When the fan hit his head it not only split in the direction of the fan, but also split in a downward fashion creating a "T."

Annie Ruth Jones
December 30, 2007
Champaign, Illinois
8lbs 2oz

(Annie is 8 Weeks in this photo)

Annie Ruth Jones...... She is awesome! As you can see in this picture we had some great guests come and visit us the first few weeks of this year. Three generations that include Erika's Mom, Erika (and Sister Heidi) and Annie (of course) came and made our New Year bright! Maryann and Heidi helped keep the newborn honeymoon going. After they left it was really interesting for us to experience what it is like to have three kids four years old and younger.

Tommy is really getting into his role as BIG BROTHER. All he wants to do is to make sure that Annie is having fun. Tommy is awesome at rocking Annie and also talking with her in her bouncer while she is grunting and wriggling with gas.

Marryann had a party with Tommy and Naomi. This session of WWF-Jones was a pretty even match-up. I think the match only lasted about 32.5 seconds as Tommy and Naomi pulled a successful double body slam and then finished her off with two well timed Hulkster power leg drops from the top rope of the couch.

Just like her big brother and sister, Annie already loves to take baths. She'll usually power out right after a good bath and a little milk.

Naomi is still our resident nap taker who is slowly becoming aware that you miss out on stuff when you sleep. A week or so ago she tried to not take naps. She'll go into the front room where the cd player is and put on music to dance to. The next thing you know she is out cold on the floor where her last twirl landed her. I think Naomi and Annie will fit in well together.

Tell next time, OYASUMINASAI

One more glam-shot!
